She is also a straight-A student who, her family will tell you, genuinely loves learning. Not loves being seen to learn. Actually loves it.

And somewhere in between all of that, she volunteers in the wrestling room with younger kids who are just starting out. She shows up for them. She encourages them. Nobody asked her to. It was her idea.

Her Parents Were Asked the Same Question Everyone Gets Asked

When Kenley was younger and it became clear that she loved everything, people started asking her parents the obvious question. Which one is she going to focus on?

Wrestling or dance? Sport or performance? One lane or the other? Her parents looked at their daughter and made a choice that was braver than it sounds. They decided not to choose. They were going to follow her. And if she lit up in six directions at once, they were going to show up in all six.

“Every family finds their own rhythm. Balancing school, sports, and creative activities can sometimes be challenging. But we take it one day at a time and do our best to manage everything together as a family.”โ€” Kenley’s Mother

In Issue 53, her mother shares exactly how their week actually looks. How do they manage the schedule? What they protect, no matter how busy things get. If you are raising a child who wants to do everything and you are wondering how to hold it all together, read that conversation. It is the most honest thing parents share with us.

The Triple Crown

Do you know what the Triple Crown actually means?

To win the Triple Crown, you have to place first at the Folkstyle, the Freestyle, and the Greco state tournaments in the same season. These are three completely different styles of wrestling. Most elite young wrestlers pick one. Kenley won all three. And she is ten years old.

“Never give up. Keep working hard, keep believing in yourself, and keep fighting for your goals.”โ€” Kenley Kierstead, Age 10

Her coaches describe her flexibility as something you rarely see โ€” built over six years of competitive dance training, it gives her a physical range in the wrestling room that opponents simply do not expect. She is not just athletic. She is an athlete shaped by art. She is living proof that a multi-sport child does not need to choose one lane to go far.

For the Parents Reading This

If you are raising a multi-sport child who wants to do everything, Kenley’s story is for you.

Maybe your child wants to do it all. Maybe they light up at dance and then come home asking about wrestling. Maybe they love science but also cannot stop drawing. Maybe every time you think you have figured out what they love, they discover something else entirely.

That is not a problem to solve. That is a child showing you exactly who they are. Kenley’s story is for you. Read it and breathe.

The Teammate. The Volunteer. The Person.

What the titles don’t immediately reveal is how Kenley uses her ability in the service of other people. She volunteers with Community Education during holiday events, working directly with younger children โ€” choosing to show up not as a champion but as a role model.

In the wrestling room, she helps newer and less experienced athletes learn and grow, offering the kind of patient encouragement that she knows from experience can change the course of a difficult training session.

Just Getting Started

Kenley is outgoing, funny, and genuinely bright. She is the kind of teammate other athletes describe first when asked who made the season worthwhile. She loves learning โ€” not performing it, actually loving it. And she carries her family’s message to her with an ease that suggests she understood it long before it was said aloud: always be yourself. Stay true to who you are. In all the rooms, on all the mats, under all the lights.

Kenley Kierstead-Hahn is ten years old. Three state titles. Several national championships. A Triple Crown. A perfect GPA. A community that is better for having her in it. Completely, unmistakably herself.

She is just getting started.

Behind Every Title Is a Family

Every multi-sport child needs a family willing to hold the schedule without holding them back.

Behind every mat Kenley has stood on, every recital she has performed in, every volunteering session she has shown up for, there is a family that made a consistent choice.ย They managed the schedules that would make most households buckle, and they did it with the kind of steadiness that children absorb without ever being told to.

That steadiness is not invisible. It lives in Kenley. You can see it in the way she competes without arrogance. In the way she turns back to help the younger wrestlers, who are still finding their footing. In the way she holds her achievements lightly, as if they are simply what happens when you love something enough to keep showing up for it.

Her parents describe their approach simply: one day at a time. But what that sentence contains is enormous. It contains hundreds of decisions made in favour of their daughter’s wholeness over any single outcome. Rest when rest is needed. Balance when balance is hard. Trust when trust takes courage.

The Triple Crown belongs to Kenley. But the foundation it was built on belongs to her family.

“Behind every confident child is a parent who showed up on the days it didn’t go well, and never once let their child forget what they were worth.” โ€” Iconic Glam Kids

Raising a multi-sport child is not about managing their energy. She is living proof of a multi-sport child. It is all about trusting it.
